CCNO Board Meeting - 7/22/26

CCNO Team Jul 20, 2026

Defiance, Ohio - On Wednesday, July 22, 2026, faith leaders, human rights advocates, concerned residents, and community organizations will gather outside the Defiance County Public Safety Building to peacefully call on the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio (CCNO) Board to terminate its contract with the U.S. Marshals Service that houses individuals detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). The community organizations taking part are FLOC (Farm Labor Organizing Committee), La Conexión, NWOPC (Northwest Ohio Peace Coalition), SIJLO (Social & Immigration Justice League of Ohio), Toledo Immigrant Alliance, Toledo Persists, and the BG Raging Grannies.

The demonstration comes amid growing concerns over the role local governments play in the federal immigration detention system and follows recent federal court rulings affirming that ICE detainees are entitled to constitutional due process protection
